Like all chiropractors, we use spinal
adjustments to correct the abnormal alignment of the spinal column.
This relieves nerve interference which can lead to pain, numbness, or a
variety of other symptoms. This is known by chiropractors as a
vertebral subluxation.
The technique used at Johnson
Chiropractic Center uses a low velocity thrust made by hand,
directly to the problem vertebrae. This approach allows for
spinal correction to be made with little to no rotation of the
spine.
By limiting rotation, this technique
decreases some of the adverse side effects associated with high
velocity adjustments. It can be used on anyone from the
ages of 0-100, and on some conditions that may be irritated by
forceful adjustments.
Along with the low velocity adjustments
we use heat, ice, Electric Muscle Stimulation, and ultrasound to treat the soft tissue
component to the injury.
